How to Clear a Browser Cache
Microsoft Edge
On a Windows or Mac computer
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click the three dots (⋯) in the top‑right corner of the browser.
- Select Settings from the menu.
- In the left‑hand menu, click Privacy, search, and services.
- Scroll down to Clear browsing data.
- Click Choose what to clear.
- In the Time range dropdown, select how far back you want to clear (for example, Last 24 hours or All time).
- Make sure Cached images and files is checked
(you may uncheck other items if you don’t want them cleared). - Click Clear now.
Chrome
On a Windows or Mac computer
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top‑right corner of the browser.
- Select Settings.
- Click Privacy and security in the left‑hand menu.
- Choose Clear browsing data.
- In the pop‑up window, select a Time range (for example, Last 24 hours or All time).
- Make sure Cached images and files is checked
(you can uncheck other options if you don’t want them cleared). - Click Clear data.
Using a keyboard shortcut (quick method)
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).
- Choose a Time range.
- Make sure Cached images and files is selected.
- Click Clear now.
